Akio Kondo, Mr. Kamiya's first apprentice and long time friend of Boon was in the US for a few days in July and August this year. We thought it might be good for him to see some of the US other than just California. Akio came out and shared a good deal of bonsai knowledge, great sense of humor and pleasant disposition. Here is a picture of a big Western Juniper that we worked on during a two day BIB workshop, I will also post a picture of the tree before work.

 This is a Japanese Maple that is being worked on to develop branching that will compliment the marvelous trunk and nebari. A few carefully placed branches and a good deal of additional ramification and this tree will be a good one. Tree is shown in a Japanese pot, tree is ~6.5" tall and the nebari is 5".  John
